    PLB recommendations

Hey team. I have been saving for a bit and have $450 to spend on a plb. What do people recommend? I can likely get a discount through work account from a safety shop, so might see what they have.
Are they all much the same? Any I should stay clear of? It will primarily be for hunting/fishing, but will also likely take it out on the Boat(lakes) in summer

KTI from Skippers Mate. NZ coded, 10 year battery and good price. Seller is a member on here too.

I picked up a ACR resqlink off Trade me years back at a good price, but buying new would have gone for a KTI, you can get them with a marine pouch too

    Get the ACR ResQLink.
The guys at work find the KTI ones give the most inadvertent activations.
Skippersmate are listing the ACR within your budget at the moment.

KTI from skippersmate at the price for 10 years there is no reason not to have one. We all hope its a waste of money, but could save your life when the shit hits the fan.

I asked one of the guys crewing the rescue helicopter if there were any trends regarding false activations, KTI was his very direct answer.
Obviously opinion but born from experience and I think worth considering.

Watch out for the prices for battery replacements. Some are worth the same or more than a new unit.
These KTI from Safety Beacons seems a good deal.
