Thread: Pry bar...

Looking for peoples experiences wih small pry bars. Looking for something small to take on trips where I know there is a bit of heavy work to be done but don't want a full length crowbar. Have snapped the tip of more than one knife doing things they aren't designed for.

Thinking something around 30cm or smaller. Got the top gear add emailed out to me and they have a Gerber one but not been impressed ordering through them in he past but it is what got me thinking...

They're great. Or the Japanese Dogyu 10"and 12" (Bunnings have them)

These are pretty good and fit your rough brief.

Go to bunnings and there is a kinchrome sleever bar for about $20 its got a podget on one end and a pry bar on the other.

Hmmm it's a ferry trip and a 2.5hr drive each way to my nearest bunnings.... The joys of online ordering!!

Good thing about these is you can hammer them in if there is no gap to get in

This ones the ticket 223nut use one of these all the time. Wish that I'd had one sooner

Cherrs @Moutere hinky that will be the one, titanium would be nice but a bit out of my budget I suspect.

Mitre 10 Mega and Hayes have got those bars Moutere mentioned. But they're orange. I know orange isn't as strong as blue though.....

Go to wreaker get old torsion bar, cut to how ever you like
Make good punches too

Make one.

Find an old car that's not being used, one with rear leaf springs........ Mums one will do.

Rip out the leaf springs, make a fire, heat up one of the leaves, grab a hammer and something to beat it against and forge yourself a pry bar.

+1 on the Dogyu, they can take some abuse
