Pulsar HD38s Tips and Battery Questions?

    Good evening,

Managed to get my hands on the above mentioned imager. Any one have any tips for using it for spotting possums. I find the trees go really white when you have more sky than tree. What calibration modes have people found the best?
Also anyone know of any good rechargeable AAA batts? Kind of like Maxtoch and their rebranded Panasonic. Just find the price of rechargeable in the shops a little much.

    Cheers

Trees will appear "hot" in the evening but at least you can see them, a possum at this time of year should stand out like all hell.
Mornings are best for thermals when ambient and ground/foliage temps have dropped...makes defining the background more difficult but life sticks out better....same for rain 12hours steady rain makes everything the same temp.....except the animals which stick out like a sore sticking out thing but you cant see any background as it is all the same temp.

IMO it should be used as a spotting aid

@andyanimal31 cheers for that will check them out, do you happen to have a link to this smart charger? Cheers.

http://www.trademe.co.nz/electronics...1389062941.htm Like this then just purchase the AAA's? The AA's would be handy anyway. Or is there a better charger i could get from Aliexpress or the like such that would do the Maxtoch 18650/AA/AAA? That tell's you how full. I remember someone posting a link to a NZ company that sold them for a reasonable price but i can't remember where or who did.

Dont waste your time chasing every last fps, it doesnt matter in the real world, it wont make a difference, all it will do is cause head aches and frustrations. And dont listen to silly old cunts

Yes if you point it to high and get to much sky in the viewer things get out of sync. Agree eneloop pros last very well.
I use number 7? white hot with slightly red hue background. , I dont loose as much night vision in the eye im useing with that setting.

Shootings fine as theres normally sun on a stick (maxtoch) lighting up the region, its fumbling with stuff and stumbling around that I find annoying with one eye white out.

You stumble around without having your eyes impaired
