Twinneedle ones are good for on the tops hunting in tussock or valley floor flats. I have owned a pr for over 10 years now with minor stitching fix ups and velcro. Stoney Creek also seem to make good tough gaiters - more silent when brushing against bush though i don't require the strap/chain under the boot to hold on - the gaiters seem to remain in place tight against the boot. For summer i use the Huntech short gaiter as the long ones i mentioned can be a bit hot over this period. Also i don't wear shorts anymore - either Stoney Creek hunt fast or Huntech summer trousers. I don't feel the cold too bad so don't want to overheat. Just want to keep the forest floor and creek crossings out of my boots. And are past my legs getting harassed by branches!
