Got a pair of
Motorola GP300 UHF Radios (16 channels)+ Fast charging Cradles and almost new batteries.
$220 tyd
Or you can stay within 300 yards and keep life a lot simpler.
Baofengs from Aliexpress work well but they have to be programmed plenty of vids on youtube. Round about 100$ for the pair.
Not sure on the legality so there is a possibility they could be held by customs.
As long as you only TX on CB frequencies (AM/UHF on land, VHF on water, HF with license), it's within the "letter of the law".
TX on emergency/police freqs, or aviation, or HAM bands, and you will have the wrath of RSM upon you.
Pro-tip, VHF propagates better than UHF, like, the marine handhelds you'd find at burnsco, but it's illegal to do that on land.

I bought these radios 2.nd hand last year but have hardly used them.
I was going to use them on a hunting trip, but opted for smaller/lighter radios.
When I bought them they came with new batteries and new housing.
Both Radios are in good used condition and come with fast charging cradles.
They are programmed to each other; when a third party tries to reach you the radio alert flashes red.
You can press the monitor button then to listen, or press the TPP button and talk and everyone on the programmed channel can hear you.
Only tested them on the farm and they seem to do what is expected.
I don't know much about radios and I talked to one of the radio shop guys here in Nelson and he says these radios can easily reprogrammed to suit your needs if that is what you wish to do.
Selling those for less ($220tyd) and 'as is' as I don't know much about these.
Or you can stay within 300 yards and keep life a lot simpler.
Quote "They will be seized if picked up by Customs"
Customs prohibition order enacted late last year.
