I've got the Alpha, Alpha LT and Alpha pants. If you want lightweight & packable go the LT. If you want increased weather protection and abrasion resistance, go the Alpha. Best wet weather gear I've owned. Quietest that I've used, not much "swoosh swoosh". Arc'teryx has it's reputation for a reason.
The Alpha Parka looks nice, but if it's that wet I'll just put the pants on.
Hopefully they will last me many years. I haven't needed their lifetime warranty yet, but I have heard that they look after their customers.
Hunters Element XTR, seems good, fairly lite , rolls up pretty small into its hood, will test it again tomorrow
