Rangefinders on a Budget
Since my lad decided he needed my rangefinder more than me, I had to splash out and get another. Went through all the usual avenues, but have gambled on one of these. https://laserrangefinders.co.nz/?gad...BoCn58QAvD_BwE
I got the cheapest one, as it's only going to be used occasionally hunting, but more often measuring the distance irrigators got left to go.
For under $200, I honestly wasn't expecting to much..... but it bounced back off a tree 1358m away. Picks up fenceposts 750m away, so for my self imposed 300m limit whilst hunting, is all I'll ever need.
For a budget rangefinder that punches above it's pricepoint, I reckon you can't go wrong

Can't knock it if it works!

Interesting, been thinking about getting a rangefinder, usually bush hunt but have been on the od farmland hunt ..might be worth a look.

My budget $100-odd Aliexpress model (claims 1000m) seems to tap out around 700m, which is plenty for taking a shot, but for some other tasks I've ended up using it for, a little more range would be nice. Their $200 model seems like a good buy, plus you have the backup of the NZ Consumer laws if anything goes wrong.

Clarity not as sharp as top end, distance isn't illuminated, and doesn't have TBR, (next model up does), but for + - 5m you can't really go wrong. But it's waterproof, and will spend most of it's time in the tractor during summer, and will do everything I'll ask of it.
