Hi all. I've got a old NZ army issue dpm backpack and the interior waterproofing has come off. I'm gonna reseal it but what's the best way to do so? I've seen a video where Flexseal spray was used but I'm looking for other options.

@Moa Hunter
1 part silicon and 2 parts turps. Shake it up till it dissolves and paint it on
And take pics before and after!
I just watched a vid where a guy waterproofs the outside of a large molle ammo pouch with black coloured "Plasti Dip" spray, seemed to work very well and I found supercheap sell a army green version for $15, might pick up a can tomorrow.
@Three O'Three as above the 'roof and gutter' plumbing silicon with Turps will fix it. I have treated a synthetic pack and it worked out extremely well. There will be a slight darkening of the material. Sprays dont work anywhere as well.
It's paintable from memory so that suggests it's not primarily silicone?
I’ve just been researching a diy waterproof brew for seam sealing to stoneycreek fly. @csmiffy is right but apparently you want to find the scent free turps and the one I’d seen was 1/1 ratio but 1/2 probably works as well.
Update: I coated the interior of the bag with the no more gaps/turps mix. I couldn't quite get the silicone and turps to fully mix to a paint consistency but could still apply with a brush. Reeks of turps though. A lot more flexible than the Flexiseal spray.
well I went whole hog.....trick to get it to mix is cordless drill on slow speed and bit of bent wire as a stirrer...DONT USE FAST SPEED....or top of freezer becomes waterproof in a hurry LOL.... did top half of canvas pack ,all of my early mackpac internal frame..it may even be the first of their internal frames...a cotton camo jacket(that was faded to heck and the pattern came back out again) and a DPM milair milserp jacket that had started to delaminate and wasnt so water proof anymore...oh and my wide brimmed hat....used full tube of silicon and half bottle of terps..... hang out on clothsline for 2 days in the wind and smell has gone.
