It becomes a half way boot, the lack of cushioning is akin to a stitch sole boot where you have a replaceable insole, not the pu-midsole type. Resoling them seems to end up with no cushioning but also a half size down or so meaning that it's tight with a replaceable cushioning midsole in them... I suspect my issue is going from wearing them every month minimum to every 3-4 months while on acc meant that they just didn't flex enough and the material failed...
agree, that is my story. Added a gell insole and got one good Molesworth trip and they fell apart on way out.
