All I use is a 25?mm wide heavy duty webbing with a ladderlock buckle sewn into it. I can slide the ladderlock out to open the sling right up for wearing it, or close it right down for carrying so it doesn't get caught up on everything. Same webbing that the cactus outdoor belts are made from. Only problem is, it doesn't have any padding and would move around a bit on your shoulder as there isn't any non slip properties to it. Bloody light and compact though.

I’ve got the same but with a strip of rubbery material stitched on for the shoulder
