Sako Finnbear Carbon paulownia stock build finished

I’ll add the blow by blow details in the next few days but here the finished product after more hours than I want to count. Happy with the result tho.

yeah the spray matt lacquer finish gives a better grip too. it was too smooth prior. A kitchen maker guy has the spray gear and product so i go over then and use a bit. ive had one done at car painting place with a automobile clear coat but barbed wire fences still scratch it lol

This build i did the carbon in a few places as strips to give a better coverage and also allowing me to do it in stages was way less stress. trying to get it to sit right all in one go was a killer. and you see i tape it to get some compression, i dont have vaccume seal gear which would work better so kiwi ingenuity prevails.

so i applied the carbon in 4 separate lays. and taped each one. then 2 layers of resin and a course sand. followed by 2 more coats and a smooth sand and then the mat lacquer in 3 coats to finish
