    I sure wouldn't be risking my life by not taking a dedicated PLB. There is a reason they are designed how they are, with a powerful transmitter and receiver, and a battery that wont be run down by other energy sucking nick knacks. I think the inreach is a handy bit of kit as long as you are not staking your life on it.
