Thread: Scary Inreach fail

Yeah was @223nut and my mate a few weeks back up the Hopkins (separate parties) Mates one said it had sent msg, however it wasn't received until much later by the recipient (think it was 5 days). Not sure if he's followed up with Garmin... must ask him.

Personally I feel the messaging devices such as the Inreach and Spot etc are a great addition to a PLB but definitely don't replace it!

I use a Spot tracker for work daily and know it can be a bit hit or miss at times (overall very good 90% of the time) and after talking with a few rescue pilots there's no way id be relying on one if things go pear shaped.
