Thread: School me on roof top tents

Hard shell all day everyday. I had one on my truck for a while and was great when I was doing a lot of off-road touring, also for when getting in to rivers for boating, or blocks for hunting, late at night, it was easy set up and made that a lot easier. But in the end I got rid of it in favour for a set up inside the truck for quick trips, and swag for longer trips. (Plus a hiking tent for foot based travel!) They’re brilliant for what they do but you need to really look at whether or not it’s the right choice for your situation. Lot of $$ to sit on the roof and drag down fuel economy unused as others have said… That said if you go ahead, I recommend RMR or Feldon
