For years now jeans have been my pant of choice for hard wearing work/outdoor attire. Fuck knows why when they get wet they are heavy and cold, when its hot they're heavy and wet and they haven't got 1mm of flexibility.
This all changed a couple of months ago when I picked up some $20 fleece pants from the warehouse. I always looked at them as a bit soft an poofy but fuck that I'm a convert through and through (I now have a pair for every day of the week). When its wet they hold stuff all water and stay warm, when its hot they are nice and breathable, and they stretch further than my legs can imagine!! not to mention grease, dirt and all the other shit just brushes off....that's the one down fall though, when out in the scrub and nature calls and I'm caught without paper the trouser leg was my go-to ring grip....fleece just doesn't have the "traction".
All in all a highly recommended cheap piece of kit for the outdoorsman, just carry paper.
Cordoroy would be epic for pooh clearage!!! I also suspect El B's tweed would work quite well too!
