Thought victory and the mob that makes the nz green river knives were in cahoots?

I've seen the Victory one advertised with the sheath and steel in shops; not directly from Victory though

My Wee Necker,

My first custom bought 16 years ago from US. Markings of the maker is gone and for the life of me I just can't remember who was it and what steel was used, someone on the Bladeforums. Used it for some kitchen/camp jobs then I kind of forgot about it. Still razor sharp, sheath is getting a bit frail. Size is 2.5inches blade and 2.5 inches handle (Some kind of Micarta). In need of some TLC.

Boar hunter, custom made, using rail track, forged blade. Cheap, but it `s good for cutting meat from bones, rips.

Survival knife, never used in field yet because the weight. Good steel though

My ESEEs. First one up is an ESEE6. Took this one in exchange of an ESEE3 from a very dear friend. This was supposed to be my apocalypse knife all kitted with a Maxpedition pack and a fire steel. Who knew apocalypse will be caused by a virus not by zombies





My most used. Used it to open up many coconuts at home for chutneys

For a Tasmanian hunter in NZ on some guided hunts wanting to take a knife with some NZ timber in it to remind him of his time here.

Finished last week and already out on a hunt. Green snake skin Juma Viper in 14c28n.

I must be on a nostalgia trip at the moment. Picking up a 1916 .303 to hunt with yesterday and today a Victory Outdoors Knife turns up in the mail! My very first hunting knife was a Green River Bushman's Friend; the Victory is a copy. I think they bought up Green River? Anyhoo; the only difference is that the original Green River was carbon steel.

Gotta give kudos to Victory.... The service from the factory is brilliant. Three days from ordering to my (rural delivery) mailbox. Packaged in a cute little Victory logo cardboard box with a sticker and knife care guide. Nice to give a NZ company credit where it's due

John, I handed my friend that new filleting knife you made on Monday, along with a kingfish, I waited for him to pull out his manky knife and make a few cuts before grabbing it and throwing it on the lawn then produced your one and said 'hey you should try this one instead' he is wrapped mate, thanks again for the amazing piece of art

Speaking of filleting knives. Made this little ko deba (japanese style filleting knife) to test out some laminated steel. Is a machine on smaller fish like koheru or blue macks.

Little edc/bird and trout prototype for testing. Rwl 34 @ 60rc. Micarta handles, hidden pins with an orange g10 liner. Plan is to have an option with timber or micarta handle for a trout/small game knife and a paracord wrap with pocket sheath for a light edc option
