no the two small ones are one -a pen knife and two two a primitive steel for reraisng the edge.I have two of the small ones -one ive mounted is complete the other a rough one Ive done repairs on the handle and scabbard and use it as a bush knife in tandem with my late model british "golok" machete.any old soldiers out there willknow what Im talking about.

That's quite an imaginary description of small knives. it's nothing like that.

Small knives are called karad (The Sharp one) and Chamak or Chakmak (Blunt one). Karad is for cleaning game, cutting fruits, general purpose small knife whereas Chakmak is to sharpen the main khukri or small knife.

Thanks very much for the info on this kukri! I think I'll print out the names/descriptions you've given me and hang the knife on the garage wall.

Got to use it same day. Feek it's sharp and holds it's edge.

A recently finished Mamba , 1084 steel. G10 bright Orange handles combined with black and blue swirl front section.
The instructions were pretty clear as they had lost two other knives by putting them down and forgot to pick them up.... it had to be bright and easy to locate.
This ones heading to the deep south, Burt Munro country.

John makes some seriously good knives here in NZ from pretty cool materials like old saw blades from timber mills.

A little Bill Nikl number custom made to a Possum Trappers own spec's, who never came back to pay for it.
So I bought it cheap. A sweet little knife with 3&1/4" blade.
The back of the sheath got gnawed on in a rat infested Urewera hut one night ...... gives it a bit of character

His day job is "putting new tyres on horses" �� he just makes them as a hobby to fill in time and keep the forge active. But if he ever decides to hang up the apron he might get a bit more serious about it

A nice useful little number from Svord. "The Amerikiwi"
I made 2 sheaths for this knife with its 3&1/2" blade. Which sheath I use depends on the length of the Hikoi.

Finished this little carbon and stainless San mai kitchen knife for my brother as a gift. Turned out pointy. Nice bit of died burl for the handle.
