My sons Swibo can do 3 reds i.e. back steaks ,back legs off without a touch up.This sharpened off a Scarysharp from Hawera.

Well it would be left to right if they posted the right way up. Think of it as a Saturday night skills test.

What do you think of the KOA Jager Boner? That knife has always been on my 'want to try list'.

It is a great knife with an amazing shape. The issue is im not a huge knife guy so am probably doing something wrong, but i find it hard to sharpen. However once it is sharp it holds its edge really well.

D2 is a good steel, but can be hard to sharpen if its heat treated at the top end. Have you tried sharpening using wet and dry emery paper and a mouse pad? Works will with D2.

U just use a wet stone and then touch up with a diamond sharpener. Never gets it very sharp. might have to try this emery paper.

D2 is known for being difficult to sharpen. Fine emery paper as suggested or a 2k grit water stone works. Keep a bit of angle on the bevel because its a bugger to chip on bone.

I have a couple of knives in D2 now and find 25 degrees on the Lansky sharpener works really well and the edge holds for ages, I do most of the work on 20 degrees then finish the edge at 25 and use a 1000 grit polishing stone to finish, bit of a strop after and they are dangerous sharp
