Top knife i made from a 57 Vanguard leaf spring. The bottom i made from a builders flat jimmy bar.
Both handles (aluminium slabs top and hikory sledge hammer handle bottom ) are pined ,glued,and bound with builders line .
Not flash but both are over 20 years old and strong as hell.
Brilliant Mohawk. There is a saying that the best knife is the knife you have when you need a knife. Those two look like they would be very handy best knives.
Yup its always nice too use something you've made yourself . They were both made with just a 5inch angle grinder and sand paper (and lots of water too keep things cool ). The handle pins I just drilled and snaped the drill bit of in the hole. Both hold an edge far better than I expected and both blades are the full length of the handles .
I bound the handles with builders line over wet epoxy then ran fishing rod binding over that in the gaps.
The little one has a rubber block on the end of handle and makes a mint rifle rest , real old school (Bipods are gay )
One on the bottom is one I made a few years back out of an old industrial saw blade. The handle is black Maire.
One on the top is the one I use most hunting because I can see the bloody thing when I put it down.Attachment 13934

The Indian sheath knife is from my Black Powder days - a hand made Bill Reddix special - he sent me this knife to trial for him - then let me keep it, 20+ years later the steel might be thinning but its sure a nice knife that handles skinning and gutting easy & stays sharp ...
The black sheath Knife is a Gerber, drop point I got given for my 21st birthday by a good friend of the family's ....... its done some yards - Has some hard hard steel that takes a bit to get sharp but stays that way for ages.........three years ago I boned out two stags a Pig and a spiker before it needed and new edge....this is my favourite .

I had a gerber same as the bottom one. Was a good knife unfortunatly i left it in a vehicle i sold :rolleyes::( was worth more than the car.
