    Show Us Your Bumbag

Have seen a few threads recently about day packs, or multiday packs. I usually go overnight, but will always pack my bumbag for hunting. I prefer the freedom of movement and lighter weight. If I get an animal, I’ll hang it and bone it out before packing on the meat frame on the main pack on the walk out. I’ll use this bumbag in the bush and in the tops if operating from a base camp.

Notes: I carry 2x knives after forgetting my killbag last 7 day roar trip. Normally use a Swazi Bush Shirt and leave the jacket and cup/cooker behind if doing shorter missions from camp. Filter water as I need. From experience I have learned to carry 2x spare GPS batteries and 2x lighters

So if you use one, what’s your system? What do you put in it and any handy tips.

The little Toaks cooker set is fun to use, and makes you slow down to brew a coffee or tea. Top tip. Buy Red Seal tea bags and carefully slice the foil pack at the top. Remove the tea bag, then put a big heaped teaspoon of your favourite instant coffee in and seal with your Vac Sealer. Make sure you mark it "C" for Coffee goodness.

    Enjoy

I use a Badlands Monster. I find a bum bag doesn't catch on overhanging trees like my backpacks do.

Also has the additional waist belt for carrying meat loads out.
