    Siltarp 1 or 2?

Hi, might be a renews thread?
What are your thoughts on Siltarp 1 vs Siltarp 2?
Is the 1 a bit small or ok for solo hunter?
Probably to be used more as a shelter than overnighting all the time BUT would like the option to overnight if required. My big question is just the weight vs size…
    What is everyone’s experience?

I have 2 and to be honest I see others use a 3.
I would in hindsight have gone for a 3.
    2 works I think a 1 would be a bit tiny.

Agree, go a 3, you’ll appreciate the extra room when the weather turns to shit, doesn’t weigh that much more

I've got a Siltarp 2 after seeing the setup other guys have used on the forum. Love it. Fits the dog and I perfectly. I'd say two people in this configuration below.

I find the single a bit small. Rain can drive in when it's shitty.

Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing, and right-doing, there is a field. I will meet you there.

What are you using on the top of the pole to stop it puncturing the fly?

I've used a siltarp 2 for probably 10 years. It's perfect for solo hunting or putting over top of the tent when weather's crap.
Slept 2 in it heaps of times but have found its a little on the small side for 2 unless weathes mint.

I think you will regret getting a siltarp 1 in terms of size.

Ryan's picture above (pup + gear) is why I got my Siltarp 2. Epicness. Trekking poles are normally supplied with rubber feet (think to use on rocky terrain to keep "quiet"). Throw these in your tool kit (or cut a couple of small pieces off the hose at home) and when you get there you can use on the "pointy end" to protect your tarp or ground sheet if required.
