    Skope Fridge

    Evening all,

Just wondering has anyone worked on skope fridges? Just as I have one and not cooling properly. Ambient temp was 16 and was going down to 11 degrees and not going colder no matter how long it was turned on for.

    Any ideas?

    Cheers

I assume you have tried turning the dial(normally found inside fridge top right) around fully in each direction and seeing which way it works then try leaving it on lowest setting????

No dials on the inside however have tried the only one I can find on the outside, got warmer than ambient temperature so put back to where I could get it to 11 degrees. Cheers

Im not a fridgey so I’ve got no issue with someone telling me I’m wrong but I’ve just been through this exercise and mine was a leak in the evaporator coil. So here’s a few things it could be.
Is the evaporator fan(the one inside the fridge)running?
Is the evaporator coil iced up? If it is and the fan inside is running turn off the fridge, defrost the coil and turn it on again.
Is the condenser coil clean and fan running(these are on the outside of the fridge)?
If all of the above are working as they should it could be:
The thermostat(older style skope) or temperature controller have an issue,
You have a leak that needs fixing then the unit needs regassing
    The compressor has an issue.

    Pretty much bang on.
It’s almost always the evaporator coil leaking. If you take the top lid off, you’ll see the top few passes are covered in ice but the return pipe to the compressor is warm.

    You want a job
You've pretty much got it covered for most possible causes. I don't do a lot of Skope but the only other one I've seen fail regularly is the hot gas line in the condensate
The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change; until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds

have given both of the coils a good clean with are to get all the crap off them.
the evaporator seams to be working fine both the fan and the pipes are cool but not icing up.
the only thing i can see is the condenser fan (outside of unit) is not working, have tried to test the unit outside so had a nice breeze flowing though it.

i was thinking it would be a leak somewhere in the system, any ideas for finding it?

dont think it will be a thermostat issue as i have put a seperate thermostat in there and it reads the same.

    cheers

@7’08 shooter That needs to be working before you go any further. Hopefully that’s all it is. It should be running when the compressor runs.
