    Sleeping bag

    Hi, another major pressing issue:
    What to buy?
It needs to be compact and warm, I hate the cold... anyone have the Halo? I have an army thing which is warm but bulky and as I only have the Cactus Huntaway it means I’m in the shit room wise.
I am looking for a new pack in the meantime.

i brought the halo, but havn't had it in the real cold to test it. Nice and compact and light. I wanted a bag with a good rating and on those warmer nights i can soon unzip it

Paid $580 for a Halo, as a price reference if that helps. Very well made, light, great loft. Haven't had it in super cold yet but have the feeling it will be fine.

$15 warehouse liner will make a heap of difference AND help keep bag clean....Mrs n I have matching cold kiwi bags we bought from smiths city 20 years ago...down bags somewhere around 10 below I guess.....buy once cry once....more than happy with a bigger bulky bag when at vechile but small light down bag is the go for pack trips.... got an old cover too that keeps dew off.that too boosts rating by at least a couple of degrees.

    Sleeping bag

For the money the Halo will be looked at first. Mate took out his Macpac epic and even though we were both wet through he at least didn’t nearly die. In mine I nearly did.
Certainly good bags around these days, need to get one.
    Thanks guys.

Have a look at the Snugpak range man they have some mint kit and as the name states they make it fit snug!

Montbell Japan are well worth a look. Some great lightweight gear and warm with some pretty cool features not seen in other bags around the same price range.
