    Sleeping bag recommendations

My old faithful sleeping bag (20 years old or so) recently had a tearing accident, so I am considering buying a new one.
I figured I'd ask the gurus here for advice.
    • I'm not a hardcore hunter or tramper
    • It is just for occasional use
    • It will be used in a tent typically (not bivi bag)
    • It will be used in warm(ish) weather only

I'm after reasonably good quality bag, that doesn't break the bank (given infrequency of use). Probably for around $200.

Brands/models and suppliers to look at?
    Cheers

If you have a garden and a library, you have all you need. Oh, and a dog, and a rifle

The Palm range of bags seem to be good valve, I have a Palm iV rated to +5c. I use it for summer and hut use, Still have an old Fairydown down bag with water proof outer for fly camps in margional weather. Only note with the Palm IV is that they can be short if you are tall. Mate 6'2" has one but finds it short when he want to pull the hood up if it starts to get cold. me at 5'10" on a good day have no problems.

Don't do what I did. We went for an overnight fly camp last weekend. Even though Dad carried flys cooking gear food and water, apparently our daughters backpack which was meant to have her sleeping bag and clothes only had clothes. So I got to sleep in my trousers and puffer jacket since it was my fault(?). Doable but would have been a better sleep inside my bag.

The other thing to consider is getting it repaired. Obviously I don't know the extent of the damage but I had a tear fixed by Twinneedle and was very impressed.

Second twinneedle, My Fairydown bag they repaired some damaged baffles, added some extra down and gave all the down a hydrophobic coating treatment.
Better than new and I would have got it around 1992???
