I went with an Exped Comfort 600 from Bivouac. -6 rating and full sized comfort while still packing down nice and small. Good bags are really expensive but I think I paid somewhere between 300-400 for it on sale.

My advice is to wait for a sale in NZ and buy local. Otherwise you will probably get hammered on duty and taxes if you buy a good one from overseas. Plus you can't hop in them and try them. Even after trying one I walked out with it (Exped Ultralite) - but I went back the next day and changed it for the Comfort after having another couple of goes in it at home. Was just too small for me to be comfortable.

My exact same experience, 'cept I got the 800, for $409.00 during a sale, good value I thought.

-12. I thought it might be a bit warm as I use a downmat and sleep in clothes too.

They're really good - can sleep normally and not like a corpse with these really tight mummy bags.

How big are these shift as I'm a big man and don't fit most of the mummy bags

I'm 6'1" ish and 92 kg, broad up top, plenty of room in it, hence the 'Comfort' tag. I got the long.
I'll dig up the brochure when I'm home for dimensions or you could google it and compare with yours.

I'm 6ft 2 and 100kg's. Pretty broad. I fit easily in the Exped comfort, with a lot of shoulder room. The other lightweight bags I tried all drove me nuts and I couldn't even get my arms down along my sides in most cases. Not that I sleep like that, but it's good to be able to move around. It packs a fair bit larger than their lightweight offering, but still squashes down really good.
