Had enough of all 3 of my thermarests with slow leaks- no joy finding leaks and repairing.
What do you recommend for a good night sleep without breaking the bank?

I had a thermarest x therm and really didn't like the horizontal baffles. I would sleep with it with low pressure and found over night i had to let more air out and then the mat would bend and end up not under me . Before that I had a exped snymat and loved if really comfy sleep . Much quieter . However it didn't last as long as my friends thermarest. I got about 5 years out of the exped . Which I'm happy with as they are half the price of thermarest . So after selling the xtherm I went back to a newer exped snymat and I couldn't be much happier with it. Recently spent I night's on it at molesworth and slept like a baby.

I like Klymit. Not as light but find them more comfy and warm.

Up to year 8 on my Thermarest Neo Air. Had to do some glue work around the valve a year ago. They are durable, and do perform. I now use a exped foam pad below to raise the r-value and for comfort. The new Thermarest Neo Loft is looking dangerously good for comfort....
I thought the same thing about the neon loft
I have the New xthurm and find it epic but im going to try one of these out sometime

These seem pretty good so far
I've also got an Xtherm in reg wide, love it has been great so far.
Another option to consider.
I've been using an insulated Sea to Summit mat as my light mat for packing.
Its been very good and used in a Macpac Neve bag with down in the top, sleve for the pad. R value of ~4.
I sleep on my side and back, quite comfortable.

Really liking my Big Agnes Rapid. Not the lightest but super comfy and just have a great nights sleep compared to others I have.
Have the same in regular wide and been a fantastic shift from thermarest. Has quite a good R rating but wake up with sore kidneys after sleeping on snow. Also the inflation sac it comes with is shit, so purchased the optional extra one.
Would probably try the new Nimo one that has an R rating over 8
Recently got a Nemo Tensor Extreme. Used it quite a bit amd so far really happy. Weighs a bit more than my old Thermarest but got the long and wide one.
Only thing can really moan about would be the valve. Isn't a screw type just a flat push release.
Not the end of the world but have once pulled full release instead of the push valve cover and let all the air out at night.
But that is only a small gripe
Yeah I bought an air pump when bought the nemo. Absolute game changer.
Exped synmat 7 winter. Comfy, warm and QUIET. Don't underestimate how noisy some of these mats can be. Maybe go with the downmat if you have the money.
I camped on my xped syn mat on the snow which has a low r rating vs the x therm in southern alps tahr hunting but I did have a macpac epic 1000 sleeping bag and I never got cold . I sleep warm though

Klymit for me too. Got the insulated lite model and absolutely love it.
Exped down matt. nice and quiet, mate on the neo air kept us awake,
Also like the fatter edge tube, helps me stay on the matt,
The down mat is not the lightest of the exped range but they do make a coment about life vs weight on the web site.

JR traverse insulated core mat. Nice and warm. A but slippery but good weight, comfortable and comes with a repair kit.

If you fly with Air New Zealand and got an Airpoint account they have Rab sleeping mat in store. Emptied the account before the missus had a look and got a Rab inosphere 5.5. Been really happy with it. The game changer was also getting a small Flextail electric pump….
The Nemo Tensor extreme comes with a handy bag pump, 3 bag fills and its good to go. Have the regular @ 500gram and a R8.5 value
Cheers fellas. Yeah the air pumps are the go. I blow enough air walking up hills and have generally run out of puff for a blowing up a mat haha
