Thread: So that gear is good??

After a long time fucking about in Fiordland I've worked one thing out. All the gear we can buy is crap......well no, I'll rephrase that. What they tell us about the gear is crap. I can't blame the gear, but marketing AND RETAILERS wants rooted.

Now when you start looking at boots, coats, cookers, packs, undies, pants, shirts ETC ask yourself, "what do I want it for?" If that set of boots is for looking good (don't look so shocked) or maybe sneaking out for a quiet poach on aunty Ann's, cousins, brothers, nephews places, or mowing Hilda's prized pumpkin patch buy em, and be happy cause they will probably do the job well. (Maybe if your lucky)
But don't whinge when you go into Fiordland for a seven day quicky of the hunting kind and they crap out big time. And don't think because they cost you wankers money that they will do the job, they might, or not. Good luck.

Pay attention to this one. I really hope it gets you thinking, but look at the hunting and fishing photo's (the company, wankers that they are) and tell me how often they are wearing 'their own gear'? Not much! I've given those tossers plenty of chances, nine out of ten times you walk out with gear that doesn't even come close to fitting right, never mind being any good. This is helpful how?

By the way, them big flash as Mendel's take way over a week to dry (week is quick) and are wet in five minutes just like the rest. I had one set of boots crap out in just over a day. The most expensive flash as coat lasts two hours TOPS in Fiordland then it's wet just like the rest of them. XXX putties lasted 30 minutes, YYYY pants look good..........at the pub, but you wouldn't take them............

I don't know what the idea of this post is, maybe it's for the snoseal lovers or some shit. It's just gear. Most of the time it lets you down, don't be shocked. That retailer is laughing his arse off!!
