Socks! The super exciting xmas prezzy

What have you lot found to be the best socks?
Quick drying, stops your feet from sweating too much and comfortable.

Haven't tried any merino ones but I'm guessing by the way it performs in all the other fields it would be the way to go?
Haven't really bothered trying many as I haven't had really good boots until now and my work boots do not breath at all.

I get my wool socks from CRT and hiking socks from Mountain Designs - merino blend. If you look for hiking/tramping sock brands a lot of them are designed for quick-dry and comfort.

I've heard of waterproof socks and they looked pretty darn good, can't remember the brand, might be a good idea to look into!

Wear 2 pairs myself. Next to skin is green bridgedale and outer is the blue norsewear one. Wear them on every trip and been holding up for 18 months so far. Sso a 1000ks or so.

Youll need decent quality breathable socks if you wear goretex boots too.

Take lessons from Barefoot Nibblet and you won't need socks.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!

just remember to match them to your boots. its thick heavy wool socks under my Ashleys, and thinner almost liners in the heavy Goretex Meindls. both Icebreakers in my case.

their alpine socks are the warmest i have even come across. but you cant seem to get them anymore.

I got 4 pairs of wool blend? from RD1 about 3 years ago. They are still mint as, no thinning, no holes and dry well. At $26 a pair they bloody should be.

I can't remember the brand name but they are made by a company in Timaru and are damned good. (Alp / Southern Alp socks?)

Grab some bridgedales mate, your feet will love you for it. They are definitely worth the coin if you spend a lot of time walking, standing etc.
