You can thin it down with a little thinners aswell. Really helps it to get into the seam and thread. then give it second coat neat.

Fellas that have these packs - how do the handle a rifle attached to the side?
I've been rolling Tatonka Bison series packs and like the ability to strap stuff all over it. Are these packs good for that too?
Be keen to see the load rating as well.

I've got side pockets on mine which act just the same as the tatonka (which I still have) for holding and strapping the rifle too. I also got a rifle sling with my southernlite which is better as I can carry the rifle a bit lower now. I've only used this pack for the one animal pack out so far on an overnight trip and it carried easily as well as the tatonka bison. I did ask for the stronger lifter bars, not sure how much difference there is between the standard or heavy duty in terms of rigidity etc. Pack weight was pushing 40kg with gear and as much meat as I could harvest and this was no problem.

Looks like they're a winner - be bloody good on tramping hut to hut too. Love my Tatonka but every kg saved is a kg more in cheese and bacon I can bring.
