    Space X OneNZ satellite

    Hi all

I finally got out for a shake-down hut camp and everything I had (and didn't) was tried out.

I got around to sending a few texts to see if I could and to see if it worked sending via satellite. Send a couple to friends and one to my wife who was with me. I sent the messages from inside the hut and then went out later on. They did not send while inside the hut as expected and was getting asked to enable data but it was already on. I forgot about it and went for a look outside. Messages were sent after a short while and my wife got hers the next day when she came out of the hut a short time after.

So it works well and can send messages, location and pictures for no extra cost via MMS. I was getting FB and WhatsApp notifications but not the actual messages (it could have been a weak cell phone reception for this I haven't looked into it yet) All this will be possible soon though they say.

I just got an email from OneNZ asking me to give feedback as I am one of the first customers to send messages in NZ via Starlink.

    Pretty good!!!
