A very good friend of mine used a swag on a x- Australia motorcycle trip. Covered shitloads of k's each day-hard work. went to bed in the dark, started in the dark.
While the swag was waterproof (never got caught in the rain though) and warm enough, he found he would wake up wet/damp the next morning. They don't breath that well. Obviously being rolled up like that and only brought out at night didn't help but that's what it was.
Funnily enough I had this strange little one man tent that was like a swag. real small. Put it up in no time. I would leave the flap open to let it breath and it would still get condensation on the inside.
It is definitely not for bad weather of if you want room that's for sure.
