    Swazi Torrent vs Thar XP

    Thoughts on both jackets?

Is the torrent a noisey and scratchy type material in the bush?

I like the idea of a full zip but need something for a all purpose hunting jacket, thoughts opinions and beliefs on the two ?

    Cheers

The tahr will be much better for in the bush, if you want quiet. The torrent is quite a noisey material. I have both and really only use the torrent on the farm/at work. It’s probably more water proof than the tahr in real world scenario, I’ll take it on hunts in the tops as it’s easier to slip on over my puffer jacket. Both are good jackets and worth the money in my opinion.

I'm drawn to the mountains and the bush, it's where life is clear, where the world makes the most sense.

Torrents a better bet. I can never get the Tahr to dry out if hunting for a few days.

I've got a torrent I've used as my main jacket on farm now for a few years still going good as and it's completely waterproof still although I have given it a few treatments. Tahr are good untill the moisture makes its way in then they take bloody ages to dry out and are heavy as. Best compromise I've found is Earth Sea Sky Hydrophobia, they are a shell type jacket but it's a little softer than a lot so is a lot quieter but still gives you that proper shell jacket rain protection, pretty robust too I've got a couple of them one is my main hunting jacket and other one gets hacked around the farm a bit

What do you treat your torrent with as iv got one & it needs a going over I seem to bit a bit hard on mine tho as I've put holes & taken domes off I don't know how I done it tho but using the jacket in the rain fencing is hard on them tho & they have the best cuffs & it's the only jacket that I haven't had the water run down me arms when working & they dry really quick
