Tell me / show me the most useful thing you always take with you when hunting.

OK fellow forum members I am intrigued to learn what is the most useful thing outside of the obvious that you always take with you on a hunt trip. I am not looking for you to tell me about your rifles, ammunition, knives, maps, compasses, tent, sleeping bags, GPS', torches, lighters, first aid kit, etc etc. I am looking for that interesting indispensable widget / gizmo / thing that you have (that you may have even made yourself) that you treasure for its usefulness.

Took the words right outta my mouth VC.
The number of useful things you can do with insulation tape is almost limitless .... it even acts as a fire starter if your stuck in an emergency.

    Cheers

Sitting height Shooting Sticks for anywhere I might be shooting >100, and sometimes for closer shots too. Much more versatile than a bipod, especially great for making steep uphill and downhill shots or shooting amidst long grass and scrub.

Can be a little more sensitive to body position or recoil in some cases, but still my preferred field rest.

That shit was currency in the army. I bought it by the box, still very handy. Cloth tape was pretty good too but I don't take that hunting, it stays in the wagon.

I always make sure I have a safety pin in my emergency kit, handy for digging stuff out of your hands and has been used by a fat bastard(me) to hold my pants up after busting a button!
