    tent question

after a weekend in drizzly pureora i found my trusty old cheapo "kiwi camping " tent leaks ......it has no tears ive had this for 25-30 years is it worth me trying to re-waterproof the fly or should i suppress the scottish in me and buy a new tent ?
this has been my "camp by the car" tent i have a lightweight tent for when i hike in

Mate I would say "suppress the scottish"

25-30 years is a good run + there have been several advances in tent design/material since then

now the Scottish in ME would say...... buy a tube of silicon gutterseal and a litre of mineral terps and mix the two together in pottle, dont use drill on high speed to do this or will waterproof table top..slow speed is ok... then paint it on your fly and allow to dry out...it will last another 20 years.
@Moa Hunter put instructions of how to do this some time back...its brilliant and sure as heck works well

Other option if it’s just a car-camper is to grab a cheap waterproof tarp or fly to throw over top of the tent if you’re expecting a bit of moisture.
