Moa Hunter's idea of going to a dress shop is a good one - they're good at doing fine fussy repairs like that, and they are used to having to do a perfect job. If you can find some more of that material for them to use even better.
+1 for tenacious tape... that stuff just doesn't come off... ever... including if you let it touch something while trying to position it![]()
Excellent stuff for patching torn puffer jackets... especially if you very carefully work it inside the tear to form a backing then do another patch on the outside against it.
For something like mesh I'd do both sides so it can stick to itself through the mesh.
