    Tent size

    Evening all.

So I'm thinking of buying a light weight tent and am looking at the terra nova laser competition 1 or 2 man.
Can pick both up for 599 but not sure which to get.
    1 man is 0.9kg and 2 man is 1.2kg.

Firstly what are your thoughts on the terra nova?
Second is it worth the weight for the extra room.? Will be for solo use, unless I stuble on a nice young lady during my adventures gota be optimistic

For my money I'd get the 2-man and get the larger one so you can keep your pack dry etc

Or find the dimensions and put masking tape down on the carpet for each size and see if you can fit

I don't know about the tent you reference.
When I bought my tent I opted to go two man so (as @308 says) I could fit my pack and gear in to keep dry. The first trip was into Fiordland.
It meant I had room in the tent when it pissed down and kept hear dry

Agree - get the 2 man. I did when I got an ultralight and there's too many reasons not to. If anyone else goes with you you've got shelter sorted, and both can carry lighter packs.

Ideally, try and get a 2 man with decent sized vestibules so that if there are two of you, you can still keep your packs dry.

@Awaian To be honest mate I haven't used it much, life has been getting in the way. Definitely worth getting the 2 man version though, nice amount of room for one person and gear. but like I said I haven't used it enough to love it or loathe it
