I have an old Fairydown Altimate II, an Exped Vela and a Macpac Microlite. They can all be pitched in one piece or the fly first and then the inner clipped in. I just leave everything together unless I'm drying stuff out. After putting a number of tents up in torrential rain ONCE with inner first I will not buy anything in that configuration again. Of the three I have the Fairydown then Macpac would have it for speed.
One thing with tent poles is to collapse them from the middle, and then keep roughly halving the sections. This stops getting too much tension in the elastic in the last sections which is the main reason and location for failure.
