I have the Thermos brand version of this. It is excellent. I would be a little suspicious of something that is priced at $32.99. It is the thermal insulation of the outer pot which achieves the slow cook so if that insulation is not up to scratch it will not cook properly. I cook things like lamb or venison neck chops for around 8 hours, they end up falling apart tender. The big key to getting a good result is to ensure the food is properly heated through before putting the inner pot inside the outer pot. there was a brand being sold in NZ called the "Quarter Acre Pot" it was excellent.

Have used the quarter acre pot mentioned. Works really well and hard to beat getting back to camp cold and buggered to have a nice meal ready and waiting.
