Have done this, would recommend. You can get some crazy light dyneema rope (~5mm) and some tiny multiple pulley blocks at a yachting shop, the whole set-up is smaller than a can of beer and will hold a couple of hundred kg. Use it with some mozzy netting to make an instant meat safe. Just wrap the cord around a stick rather than your hand, the thin rope under load can cut.
