Sarvo uses GPRS which sends data via email, much cheaper option but it appears to be hard on battery life?.GPRS wasnt around when I started so Im still getting pxts sent. I have 2 MMS capable cams, an older ltl Acorn 6210mms and a not so old 5310WMG . They work on the Vodafone network and need 3 bars, you can get booster aerials. I find the ltl acorns pretty easy to set up. The programming data is set on a root file on the SD card so its there untill you erase it, dosnt vanish when the batts go flat or you need to change them. Pxt cost is standard 50c. Setting the camera up to minimize false triggers is a learning curve, setting the sensitivity to low or medium is a good start. Quite a few options out there now,Iv stuck with the acorns as they were the only mms option years ago. The 2nd 6210 is 4+ years old , has been in the bush the whole time and has clocked a year on 12 AA lithiums. Ill definatly look at GPRS for my next cam though.
