Trekking pole tarp : pitching sequence ?

I normally pitch my Rab Siltarp 1 using a ridgeline setup (2 x mini carabiners & prusik knot) similar to this:

Lots of benefits to this, least of which is the tarp is relatively secure in the wind once the ridgeline us up, so you can pitch in fairly high wind (normal in the Tararuas...)

Had a play with it on the lawn today trying to set it up using 2 trekking poles. In case I want to use it as a shelter where there are no trees.

Whole setup is floppy like a limp noodle

Anyone done this ? What's your tricks and tips ?

I'm guessing stake out the 4 corners first, and then try to deal with the poles ?

I like the "tent pitch" with my siltarp, stands up to a tonne of wind and is nice and comfortable and dry and really easy to setup

I use my 3x3 tarp the same way as Ryan, you can tie the hi point up of the tent into a tree and go without the walking pole if wanted.
Use your pack to partially block the door way if wanted, or close the two side flaps in and clip with a carabiner. Plenty of room for two people, or one person, pack rifle and dog. For a bit more room hold up the back of the tent with a shorter pole/stick.
On wet ground where a floor can be beneficial I build one like this, you can peg the long side out as a roof for more space. This one can get condensation inside if it is fully enclosed.
