got one from Super Cheap a while ago (on special of course). Seems to do the job.

Experience. What you get just after you needed it.
Second what Shearer said. Haven’t had any issues so far.
Makita do one, battery operated, 120 psi
Boom, cough,cough,cough
Had two super cheap branded ones and both died before I thought they should have.... Have had a good run with the air hawk, it may be a bit slower but you can set what pressure you want it to fill to and leave it (sure it's not accurate but a handy feature) the battery pack comes in handy doing the trailer tyres as well (have had to take trailer of in the past to put a bit more air in due to a slow leak)
The one in Shearers link on special isn't bad,
I have the unbranded version of a 2 cylinder Maxi-trax, 3 yrs old and going strong, Paid around a hundy off one day sale type website.

With any budget/mid range compressors, don't overheat them, If they are too hot, give them some rest, no different to shooting a rifle, keep the barrel cool. They will last a lot longer.
The Biggest Room is the Room for Improvement
If you have Batteries, see if the battery make has a compressor skin. My Makita skin at my cost was $129.00. Awesome bit of kit, but probably all power tool brands have skins
Boom, cough,cough,cough
I have been using the same inflator that Shearer brought from Supercheap for around 3 years now. Seems to work for me everytime when in the hills - aside from the inbuilt gauge which is too inacurate. I use a hand held tyre gauge.
if you run Milwaukee tools then go and grab one of their inflators , brilliant piece of kit , mine goes everywhere when im on missions and gets used around home a lot more then my large compressor.
Pretty sure Makita do one as well
Bay Tyres-Driving the best deal since ages ago
If bulk (and budget) is an issue, try something like this. I 'made' one for my bike. Couldn't be arsed with making a new cover, just ripped of the plastic housing, shortened the hose to the gauge, and wrapped it up in a lightly oiled rag - about 1/4 the size. You just have to hold it very carefully when using it:

Might need to extend the batt connection wires or the hose if using it on a 4x4.
