    Walkie talkie aerial

On the things you hate section I posted about my 2006 uniden walkie talkie aerial breaking off at the base.
Managed to split the case at work (with some good advice from @gonetropo) but it got worse.
The plastic has gone brittle to the point it shattered when i squeezed it a bit hard.
Some really shitty jigsaw puzzling with some superglue got it back together, followed by a suggestion from @7mmwsm to use heat shrink over the top and finished with some plastic airline to fit the inside of the aerial and superglue in to help it down by the thin bit where its weakest.
    Rough but ok.
Get home to check the other one and its started to break down there too.
@ROKTOY see pics of model. UHO44.
    Think several look quite similar.
The base of the aerials have a groove and are sandwiched between the cases.
What was disappointing was noticing the top of the repaired one cracked and needed some more glue.
They are pretty buggered really and dont reckon they will last long.
If anyone else has some bits that would be great
Could almost be in the buy/sell section I suppose
    Cheers

Those should just be sma male antennae that simply unscrew. GT should know.

If so, just pick up a couple of replacement antennae off Ali express. Try a couple of Nagoya NA 771's. Will double your effective tx/rx distance

@XR500 nah they isnt screw in hobbies.
Used walkies a lot in the last few years and the true industrial ones have a male thread in the body and the aerial screws in.
On these models, the aerial is a spring that comes out of the circuit board and this slips over it.
The grove in the base is like a piston ring grove and is held in there by the two case halves.
I splurged on them back in 2006 and havent used them bugger all. Been in the drawer mostly so cant blame the sun.
To everyone else looking for bits I do appreciate it

I have this style aerial, spares of Kirisun and Baofeng radios.
    Nothing uniden specific sorry.
I have 3 UH040 radios in the drawer, they must be at.least 15 years old and still going strong.
I can't get any of their aerials to unscrew though.

@sig4x4 might have to have a chat. @ROKTOY yup if they are like mine they wont go anywhere.
I think I wrecked my unbroken one by twisting it.
That was before i worked out i had to pull them all to bits.
