Thread: Walking poles

I have used walking poles for the last 25 years and currently own 3 pairs. A pair of carbon fibre Ali Express jobs, A pair of Oz Trail alloy ones and a pair of Leki micro vario carbon poles. The Ali express ones cost about $45/pair 10 or so years ago. The Oz Trails (retailed $120) cost me $10 second hand and the Lekis (retail $375) cost me $30 at a work auction. To be honest, when I am using them I can't really tell the difference between them. Each has a different grip but all are comfortable and I haven't managed to break any of them yet, although I have had the locking mechanism fail on others in the past. My advice is, above all else, buy some with a cam lock rather than twist lock or folding. It is by far the best system.
