Thread: Warning Garmin hacked

Hey guys Im not sure if this is affecting your devises as well but just saw this and thought I had better put it up there.

Problem solved.

Apparently the inreach service wasn't affected from what I read it was just anything that needed to upload data to the net like sports trackers etc

Thanks @Happy Jack for that info good to hear that it sounds ok to still use. Just thought it prudent to post it just in case it wasnt and some poor bugger ended up with a not so happy out come.

I think because the service is monitored by a NZ company rather than Garmin themselves. It is these guys who do it here

Mine worked fine over the weekend.

I do like a lot of functions on my instinct, but I still won't go anywhere I don't know without map and compass.

For exactly this reason.

Garmin started working again last week, they were down for 5 days or so.
