Sounds like you should be selling it to me cheap and earning brownie points

ive had a couple of good watches which i had to retire after years of exposure to assorted human body fluids-its amazing how they gum up the bloody insides.have had a lorus sports which never left my wrist shower rain swimming ,etcetcetc, and my son has just replaced battery ,but tells me its no longer waterproofadfter a decade. .have a couple of others a 200m casio which is a chunky cow but more dress, and then ive a couple of hack arounds-shit showers dirt ,grease beer and human body fluids.
way i figure it just need simple functions and as a nurse moving second hand.
Missus bought me a Fitbit, yeah I know what you are thinking :D So while I'm being a grateful lad and wearing it, my friggin son has made off with my good Casio sports and claimed it as his. Nice middle of the range model that has been 100% reliable. Once this shitbit lunches itself and goes in the bin I'll be in the market for another good sports. So keep up the stories for 223nut coz I'm tuned in too :)
Sinn
Omega Seamaster
Or
Tag Heuer formula one for the budget conscious.
Perfect for a rich fella like you
+1 for the Omega Seamaster. Really nice to wear!
But only for good.
Have another that is solar powered. Didn't know this and had it in a draw. Took it in to get new battery's  man that jeweller sure could laugh:wtfsmilie:
What do you prefer @223nut, analogue or digital?
I reckon analogue is a better all rounder esp with the illuminated hands.
Automatic seiko divers or one of the solar jobs

@Mathias i agree analogue is easier to read but wanting thermo, baro and altimeter so dont think there is enough display room for analouge and all the things i want

analogue and gps etc
Looks ok if it wasn't for all the different city names all round the edges...
CASIO rangeman is in the lead at the moment. Though I don't like the negative display (white numbers on black background), and they don't seem to do a normal display in olive green just for the black with red highlights.
Have the new Gshock Mudman and its the absolute business!!!! Solar powered, has compass, moon, temp as well as all the other usual functions. All work very accurate provided you've set it up correctly to start with and is calibrated....ie set up to begin with. Solar power and compass functions were the main pull for me as when getting to the bail i got sick of having to constantly stop to check the gps. Now just pick a route and hold my baring with the compass and am away. Very happy wtih it, super durible. Love the moon function. Would be cool if it included the tide and barometer functions too, though they are avaliable in the next models up of Gshocks i just don't like the size and look of the current ones on offer at this stage. May look at an upgrade in the future if they put some out to specs im interested in.
Also have a Gshock Gulfman model and its awsome too. The one i've got is battery powered with tide and moon functions. Both spot on accurate and very handy for fishing and diving. This one is the older model, not solar powered and doens't have some of the other extras that the newer ones have.
I never leave home for the bush without the mudman!
I wouldn't get neg display again. Dad has same as mine without neg display and normal display is better.
Anyone try the Tissot Android watches?
A digital watch is a shit compass, one with hands works fine. I once taught a cub group bushcraft and navigation the using a watch as a compass bit made me realise how few analogue watches are worn today. Then there were the kids who used a mobile to tell the time!
You can still find north with a digital watch as well as an analog.

Ok folks I went for the rangeman, happy with it so far but has anyone worked out how to turn off the auto light? When you tilt the watch (rotate wrist) the light comes on, lost 1/3 of battery overnight, will be taking it off to sleep now but any ideas? Can change from 1 to 3 but no difference. Though I did leave the watch on the barometer overnight so that didn't help as it constantly checking pressure I believe.
Also followed their instructions on turning off the update... Didn't work with or without the power saver mode on.
Look at the back and find the movement model (four digits in a rectangle). Download the manual and follow the instructions to turn it off.
Bro take it off and leave it in the window facing the sun for a day. After doing that, mine has never dipped off full battery. You will find as you play with it less (just like your willy) it will last a bit longer :D
yep that did the trick, had to download the manual for this specific watch.
manual says to hold the 'reset' / adjust button down when in the mode for updating the time frequency thing. holding the button down does NOTHING tried all the other buttons and they dont work either. its got me scratching my head
I have to admit I am a bit of a watch geek.
I don't like dress watches as I never dress up, but I like my military/practical type watches.
Have had a Suunto core for around 7 years that now for some reason chews thru new batteries in a month or less.
Time to replace it.
Just bought a Suunto Traverse Alpha-stealth for $450 nz delivered.
Cheapest I have seen anywhere.
I liked the new Garmins but they are around 800 bucks with the same features as the Suunto.
Few fellas I work with have the Garmin or Suunto traverse. The Suunto rates higher with them.

@R93 mine started eating batteries as well, screen was getting past it as well. Have had 2 suuntos and been 'ok' time to change to CASIO as had an old g shock for 10+ years and nothing wrong with it.
The recall on the rangeman is a bit difficult to work out, graph on the main screen is great untill there are large changes in pressure and the chart doesn't show much more than the last few hours
Yeah I could understand having a couple batteries that were on the shelf a while but on my fifth battery and all are lasting the same amount of time.
I don't like the Casios as the face is cluttered compared to the larger Suunto. My eyesight isint what it used to be either.
Having a large face the GPS, good sensors and moon phase is what swayed me to the Suunto.
