    Water Proof Pants/ leggings

Currently have a pair of swazi over pants, they aren't that light also get heavy when wet. Use kaiwaka for work which are great but are just to bulky.
So just seeing people a using. Wanting them to be water proof, light weight and don't really want a pair of sweet pants.
Any use the light weight stoney creek about $140ish

If it's for hunting then I prefer poncho and thermal longs or poncho and shorts...I don't mind wet legs.

Stoney Creek Dreambull are excellent, not super light weight but pack down pretty small.

I've been happy with my Outdoor Research overtrousers. Would recommend buying ones with a near full length zip - good for sliding over boots and for venting when needed.

Not wanting to hijack but I’d love to hear more about the poncho - I’ve thought about one but decided they’d be no good in the wind. Is that not the case?

I’ve just bought some dream bulls and the reason was nice long zips at the bottom of the legs for easy on/off a cram bag and belt loops. They don’t have pockets which is a bit of a bugger. RRP $129. Got them it the Sika show for $99.

These are working well for me. They're best as colder weather waterproofs. I have them in olive.

Naturehike over trousers off AliExpress aren't bad for $30 but they don't breath so you do sweat a bit in them. Good zips at the bottom so you can get them on over your boots and gators no problem

Had a good run out of the dream bulls. Like the big zips at the bottom for boots etc and they feel light on your legs when using them

Poncho keeps rifle handy and out of the weather, covers back pack and belt gear...really fast to put on and take off...makes a good groundsheet or bivvy...the army used to think they were the bees-knees for their troops, don't know if they still use them or whether soldiers still go out in the rain.
