Waterproof compression bag - options plse

What does everyone use for compression bags to put sleeping bag on the outside of your packs?
Quick Google shows tons of options, but I'd rather hear from those who have used them rather than sales pitch.

I've ordered a new pack, and it has the ability to carry the sleeping bag externally low on loops at the base.
    Just for over nighters.

    cheers

Even in a waterproof bag mine stays inside the pack, a dry nights sleep is to valuable. Especially if mounting near the bottom of your pack, only need to put it down on a Spaniard once while having a break to ruin your night.

Both my main sleeping bags came with a waterproof bag as well as a cram/compression bag so not much help there

Agree with 223nut, I don't carry mine on the outside.

    I use these bags:

We don't have Spaniard in the north island.
At least I have never seen it.
If you take care no reason why you cant stick it in a dry/compression bag and carry externally.
From what I have experienced with Spaniard the shit would poke a hole in your pack and your dry bag and .....

Err yes we do. Will find it in any alpine location. I've had the displeasure to sit on the stuff in the Tararuas, Ruahines and Kaimanawas

Carrying the sleeping bag on the outside doesn’t make sense to me. What are the pros of doing so?

You sure those straps aren't for carrying a foam matt? I use a sea to summit compression sak but certainly keep it in my pack

Sleeping bag for me, inside pack, inside dry bag cannot get that sucker wet.
I use k-mart dry bags - cheap and strong - double as meat sack on way out.
Quick wash at home - good as new.

Thanks all - will just stick with keeping it inside the bag.
Will have a look at some of the compression bags mentioned.

    Cheers
