    Wear On Earth

Just a quick shout out to the guys at weo
Had a waterproof puffer made with the tough outer layer ,am spending Xmas in the uk as my daughter got married last week
Anyway long story short I’ve been to a couple of football games in rather less than clement conditions and couldn’t be happier with the coat, kept me toastie as sat watching the game and dry walking home in the rain/sleet
And to top it off we won both games 3-0 and 3-1

P.S I don’t know how to post pictures sorry

I wanted to get a waterproof puffer for the rainy winter days. I was um'ing and ahh'ing about what to get, but decided fork out for a WOE.

Called Blair up (took a couple of tries, but we got there) and sussed one out. $510 to my door for the waterproof outer. Got here after a week and a bit.

I'm so happy with it. Definitely exceeded my expectations for waterproofness. I'm Auckland based, so it can get warm really quickly when I'm moving, but it works well for someone sitting behind a computer all day.

I had a hoon on my mate's new Stoney Creek Thermotough jacket. Bloody warm, rain proof, tough outer layer; he reckons all the workers on his farm are wearing them.

I was keen on getting one. Has anyone have any experience with both that and these WoE tough outer layer jobs? Clear winner or much the same?

Straight off the SC website "water resistance" I wouldn't put it in the same category as the above WoE jacket.

I have owned the SC thermotough for a few weeks from new. Warm and wind proof while riding my SXS, appears partly water proof but haven't worked in full rain yet so don't mind the rain resistant tag. Big downside is that any physical work such as carrying a rifle along the river flats for 30 mins or lifting timber for more than 20 mins and you will get wet inside - the material does not breath at all when exerting some physical energy. In hindsight I brought the wrong jacket - it is really designed for been static/glassing the hill with minimum physical activity. Seems okay walking in town in the rain like last Sunday in Canterbury but as soon as you do a bit of physical work - kaput! I used a voucher to partly buy my one so paid $253.00. Think they go for about $430.00.
I did meet another hunter a week ago in the hills on his SXS wearing the same SC jacket - told me the same story - gets condensation inside the arms when moving about all zipped up. Maybe he is reading this thread too?
