    What is the best lightweight puffer jacket for hunting?

    Seasons greetings everyone!
    Hey I’m looking for a lightweight puffer jacket with following:
    *packs down very small
    * lightweight
    * water repellent
    * very high warmth to weight ratio
    * realistically durable
    * good fit to size
    * realistically priced
    What do you use and how would you rate your jacket out of 10?

    I’ve been looking at the Rab Zero G which is scary pricing!! Anyone tried these?

    Cheers

    You will also need to consider whether you want to wear it under a waterproof shell or wear it as a one purpose fits all jacket. If you want to wear it under your outer waterproof layer at times, you will need one that is fitted to be used as such - like narrower arms, and a different zip/collar configuration. There is always a trade off when you have a long list of requirements ie lightweight doesnt always give a high warmth rating. Durability doesnt always go well with lightweight. And as per usual, buy once, cry once.
    I would be having a good serious talk with the guys at Wear on Earth, they know their stuff and can make a jacket to your exact requirements. And they're bloody durable!

    I have a Macpac Alpine series jacket. For lightest warmth to weight ratio you want an 800 loft down jacket. If getting a Macpac one wait for one of their regular sales.

    Yep I have one of these, seriously light weight and warm but made of tissue paper. I only wear it under a jacket, at camp or in my sleeping bag on extra cold nights.

    Plus ➕️1 for Wear on Earth.
    Got this one made as my "One" jacket
    Water Repellent
    Prima Loft (warm when wet)
    Check out the big internal bino pockets

    Cheaper than alternatives and I still use my first one I got from Blair that's 20 years old!Name: 20221227_202051.jpg

    Do all the wear on earth jackets have the black elastic on the bottom of the sleeves?

    one of these days it might get cold enough for me to try one of these fancy pants puffy jacket things..... will have to be plurry cold before 2 layers of polarfleece with a wind/rain cheater overtop wont keep me over heating.

    You could get him to sew unicorn leather in their place he will custom anything. His "basic" models have the black cuffs but it's not elastic it's polarfleece.

    Also, how much would one of the WOE puffers cost if going for customised version? Cheers
